Raleigh is more than just the state capital of North Carolina. The city, known as "City of Oaks" because of its amazingly beautiful trees, is a family destination, the perfect place to live and an outstanding place to visit.
One of the things that this city is known for its the unique Research Triangle located here. That consists of the three city region of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, all of which provide access to the some of the state's best universities. A number of colleges and educational structures are found here including North Carolina State University, Wake Technical Community College, Meredith College and Peace College, to name a few.
A visit to Raleigh requires a visit to some of the city's museums. This includes the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Marbles Kid's Museum (a fantastic hands on location for children of all age) and the J.C. Raulston Arboretum. For performing arts, visit the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
You may also want to take in some sports when you visit Raleigh, which could include the National Hockey Leagues" Carolina Hurricanes or the Carolina Railhawks which is part of the United Soccer Leagues.
